Closing SiteKiosk Android
By default SiteKiosk Android can be closed by either clicking on the X-button (Exit button) in
the upper right corner, next to the SiteKiosk logo, by tapping the home button in the Android status bar (if visible) 5-6 times in 3 seconds or by touching all
four corners of the screen in a clockwise motion. Note that you can start the clockwise motion in any corner of the screen.
After clicking the exit button or performing the gesture you will either be prompted for a password (if configured under
Security in the SiteKiosk Android configuration) and then see a selection dialog or directly see the selection dialog. In the dialog you can choose to
- go to the configuration of SiteKiosk,
-
return to the SiteKiosk browser or
- exit SiteKiosk and return to the normal Android homescreen.
If you choose to open the SiteKiosk configuration you can configure the way you are exiting out of SiteKiosk.
1. Define password
To define a password to close SiteKiosk go to Security in the SiteKiosk Android configuration and choose the password option. If a password is set you will be prompted for a password after you clicked the exit button, tapped the home button in the Android status bar (if visible) 5-6 times in 3 seconds or performed the gesture to exit SiteKiosk. Only with the right password you will get to the selection dialog that enables you open the configuration or close SiteKiosk.
Should you have forgotten your configuration password, you will still be able to use your general password to exit SiteKiosk if you are using a licensed version.
You will find your general password, for example, on your SiteKiosk invoice or in the email that was sent to you and contains your registration information. This will ensure that the general password will only work with your version of SiteKiosk. For emergencies, PROVISIO keeps a copy of your license key on file.
Your general password is composed of the first eleven characters of your registration code.
2. Require gesture to exit
This option allows you to disable the exit button in the SiteKiosk browser and only close SiteKiosk by using the exit gesture. You will find this option under
Application -> Browser Settings and
Application -> Multiple Applications -> Settings -> Select Applications -> Browser -> Settings.
The gesture is to drag your finger to all four corners of the screen in a continuous flow. Note that you can start in any of the corners of the screen.
Note that you can also tap the home button in the Android status bar (if visible) 5-6 times in 3 seconds to exit SiteKiosk.
