Support Request: Error 404

Description

Hi,

We are getting this error:

[SiteCaster CMS] content could not be updated: Error: Request failed with status code 404

On one of our sitecaster machines. Tried to reassign the machine but nothing changed. Should I reinstall sitekiosk?

Any ideas?

Hello,

In general, there seems to be a problem with the Internet connection on the Client.
http error 404 = not found

You may first exit SiteKiosk and check the network/internet connection in the Admin account on the SiteKiosk machine and also verify that you can open www.siteremote.net in a browser at the client machine.

General note:
Even if it is not due to the SiteKiosk version, SiteKiosk Classic Windows version 9.7 is no longer supported.

Please note:
SiteRemote, SiteCaster and SiteKiosk Classic are legacy products.
SiteRemote and SiteCaster will only receive service updates (security updates and bug fixes) for until the end of 2025.
SiteRemote.net will cease operations on the 31st of December 2025 as is communicated on the login page of https://www.siteremote.net.
If you have your own SiteRemote server you can still use it after the 31st of December 2025 for as long as you like. This product will receive no support after that date, though.

SiteKiosk Classic as a standalone software will still be available. There is currently no planned end date for it.
But as a legacy product it receives limited support, meaning only severe bugs will be fixed and the Chromium browser engine will be updated about 1 or 2 times a year.

SiteKiosk Online is designed from scratch and, except for the start mode of the client software, everything is configured on the SiteKiosk Online server (in the projects you can publish on the client computers).

The licensing of the client is also handled by the server and you no longer need to store any licensing information on the client.
