Support Request: Emergency Mode LicenseNotRegistered: Code 4

Description

Hello,
We have successfully started the Site Kiosk software on our terminal several times for testing purposes without any issues. However, after a few days of inactivity, we encountered a problem when trying to start the terminal again. We got stuck in the SiteKiosk Windows account. A window appears displaying the message ‘Emergency Mode - License Not Registered: Code 4,’ instructing us to log in to our account to access the system. Unfortunately, we are unable to exit this window, despite trying all our passwords, including the general and master passwords. We have also tried all key combinations, but without success.

Hello,

If the emergency screen is displayed this can be caused by license problems, incorrect configurations and other errors on the client.

In this case, it seems that the Client computer has not been connected to the SiteKiosk Online Server for a longer period of time (more than 7 days), which is why the local license is no longer valid.

If the client computer is connected to the Internet and can contact the SiteKiosk Online Server, the emergency screen should disappear after a few minutes.

Otherwise you can just press the exit button in the emergency screen and use the user data of a local Windows administrator account (Windows client) to exit SiteKiosk.

Thank you for your answer!
We have tried both options, but neither was successful. Since we haven’t set a Windows administrator password, we are unable to exit using the Windows administrator account.

I believe we do have an internet connection, but I can’t confirm this as it always goes straight to the emergency screen.

Hello,

In this case, you should first check your SiteKiosk Online team on the server (https://sitekiosk.online) to see if the client has a connection and if enough licenses are available.

>Team>Licensing https://sitekiosk.online/help/en/Licensing.html

Also make sure the client is not in the "Unlicensed Clients" folder – see here for further information:
https://sitekiosk.online/help/en/Licensingtheclient.html

If the client still is connected you can e.g. send a Job to exit SiteKiosk (>Control>New Job>Add step>Operating System>Operating System logout). https://sitekiosk.online/help/en/Jobs.html

Otherwise you can also reset the Windows System (and this time please set a password for the admin user, as is best practice these days) and reinstall the SiteKiosk Online Client.
After registering the client again (you can even use the same name as before and replace the machine) just publish the project again.
