FAQ: What impact will the retirement of IE have on SiteKiosk?
Microsoft retires the Internet Explorer in June 2022 on most Windows 10 versions (
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-it-pro-blog/internet-explorer-11-desktop-app-retirement-faq/ba-p/2366549).
For customers who still need an IE-based browser in SiteKiosk for compatibility reasons this changes nothing. SiteKiosk can still use the IE skins based on the IE web browser control (status of May 2022).
The Webbrowser control will continue functioning on Windows 10 after IE11 has been retired. Just like on Windows 11, where IE is not present.
In general, we recommend using the Chrome browser skin for the SiteKiosk browser, which is based on a Chromium CEF browser engine installed with SiteKiosk.
