Support Request: Lost admin rights on PC
Reproduction
Lost admin rights on PC
Hi I'm having the same problem as the a previous user whereby I lose admin rights and access to the c drive.
The PC is a Dell Optiplex 9010 with no other software installed running windows 8 pro fully updated. I'm not sure the IE version as I am now re-imaging the machine.
I downloaded the latest version of Sitekiosk yesterday.
I had the problem after the first installing Sitekiosk and read this post so wiped the machine and installed sitekiosk again but this time I unchecked the box “Apply System Security Manager default settings”. This seeemed to work as I could access the c drive and still had admin access to applications.
I set Site kiosk to startup automatically and set the system security manager to the default/recommended settings no changes made.
Once I had restarted the machine the sitekiosk started fine but when dropping out of sitekiosk back into windows I found the problem had returned and I had no access to system security manager and configure sitekiosk. I have tried rebooting and logging on with my admin account but I still don't have admin rights and cannot remove sitekiosk or change any PC settings.
Can you help.
