Support Request: Emergency Mode: Abnormal program termination error

Description

Hello Dear support,

Today, I encountered an "Emergency Mode" error with SiteKiosk. Everything was running smoothly this morning as we were using SiteKiosk to execute a batch file. However, while using the software, I received an error message stating that access was denied to "system32\clinfo.exe". I resolved this by enabling it through the Start Security Manager.

After restarting SiteKiosk, I found that I couldn't open it anymore, and a yellow error message appeared, saying, "Services were unable to start in time, therefore you see this emergency screen." When I tried to restart, it prompted for a password which I entered unsuccessfully, and suddenly shut down unexpectedly.

Currently, SiteKiosk is not functioning, and in the SiteKiosk Manager, I'm encountering an "Abnormal program termination error."

As far as I understand, I need to somehow close SiteKiosk properly, but I'm unsure how to proceed.

Thank you in advance
Kind Regards

Hello,

The Emergency Screen is a protective function of SiteKiosk Online.
A yellow message means there was a problem with starting the services (in time). Also see: https://sitekiosk.online/help/en/EmergencyScreen.html

This might be due to general performance issues on the Windows system itself (e.g. due to a higher system load when starting Windows and all other services in combination with loading SiteKiosk and the content).

To exit / restart SiteKiosk properly you can use the buttons in the emergency display. Use the user data of the local administrator (Windows client) or the SiteKiosk Online master password (Windows & Android client).
You can find the master password in your SiteKiosk Online team under Team>Security>Master Passwords.

If that doesn’t help you may remove the project (publish and deselect client) and check again.

Otherwise, it is maybe caused either by general Windows / performance problems or by special domain policies / third-party security programs that prevent SiteKiosk and/or the services from starting.
You need to check the Windows event log on the Windows system for errors and warnings to find the reason.
