Support Request: Popups open as about:blank pages

Description

We have a portal in the kiosk configuration and it works if we browse pages.
A few functions open a new window using javascript code and loads a webpage into it. All those windows show as blank pages.

We can send the logs and the configuration (in private, not on the pubblic forum).

Hello,

SiteKiosk 9.8 is no longer supported, but if the browser windows need to communicate with each other, you should reactivate the TAB bar. In SiteKiosk Classic, this only works between tabs but not between the main window and new windows.
Please activate the option "Show Tab Bar & Toggle Tab Bar Button" under ">Start Page & Browser>Customize>Browser Toolbar" and check it again.

Otherwise please also to check it with the current SiteKiosk version, which includes a newer Chromium CEF version (unfortunately not possible for me, as I could not access the website here), you can find an article on updating SiteKiosk Classic Windows here:

Please note:
SiteRemote, SiteCaster and SiteKiosk Classic are legacy products.
SiteRemote and SiteCaster will only receive service updates (security updates and bug fixes) for until the end of 2025. SiteRemote.net will cease operations on the 31st of December 2025 as is communicated on the login page of https://www.siteremote.net. If you have your own SiteRemote server you can still use it after the 31st of December 2025 for as long as you like. This product will receive no support after that date, though.

SiteKiosk Classic as a standalone software will still be available. There is currently no planned end date for it.
But as a legacy product it receives limited support, meaning only severe bugs will be fixed and the Chromium browser engine will be updated about 1 or 2 times a year.

SiteKiosk Online is designed from scratch and, except for the start mode of the client software, everything is configured on the SiteKiosk Online server (in the projects you can publish on the client computers). With SiteKiosk Online you can create interactive content as well as display scheduled and event-driven content. The licensing of the client is also handled by the server and you no longer need to store any licensing information on the client.

We also offer upgrade licenses from SiteKiosk Classic to SiteKiosk Online (SiteKiosk Online Cloud - Upgrade):

Thank you - enabling the tabs bar - it works.
is there a way to use those popups without the bar? it creates confusion in the users.

Hello,

In general, SiteKiosk Classic also allows you to open web pages in new windows. In this case, however, the previous window and the new window must communicate with each other.
With SiteKiosk Classic this is unfortunately not possible in any other way, as the communication of browser windows only works between tabs (as described above).

Otherwise, you can / must switch to our actual product SiteKiosk Online.
